(FREELAND, WASHINGTON – December 12th, 2000) Ever sit on your glasses as you get into your car? A new device protects eyewear by holding them, using a suction cup, to a vehicle's windshield.
The "SpecMate Eyewear Caddy" is made of clear rubber and looks sort of like a yo-yo. To use it, the the device's suction cup is lightly moistened around the edge and pressed onto a corner of a windshield or behind the rearview mirror. Glasses are held by the nose-bridge, a common feature to most frame styles. Even on bumpy roads, glasses hang tight. And instead of rummaging in the glove compartment when the sun blinds you at the crest of a hill, sunglasses may be accessed quickly with one hand, allowing you to stay on the road.
If you tend to lose your prescription glasses, the SpecMate caddy is also useful in the house, stuck to a bathroom mirror or on a kitchen window. Adhesives or fasteners aren't necessary. We've also seen the thing holding up Christmas lights, washcloths in the shower, opening file cabinets, and used as a computer mouse wrist support! SpecMate retails for $2.95. It is patent pending, and is finding its way into retail outlets. For additional information see the Muscle and Arm Farm website at www.muscleandarmfarm.com.
